Hooray!

Hi Everyone!

I hope all is well. Dominic is officially 1 week old! I can't believe it! Brandon and I are figuring out parenthood, and learning to sleep when Dominic sleeps. It only took 1 night for us to figure out that sleepless nights are not very much fun. Dominic is doing well, and I am loving being a mom. It is everything that I hoped it would be. Brandon is helping me by getting up in the middle of the night and changing diapers so I can get just a little more sleep; which I am so thankful for! Brandon's mom just left yesterday, and I cried and cried that she was leaving. It was so wonderful having an extra set of hands around the house and just having one more person to help was so beneficial! I know Brandon and I will be fine together, but it was nice having her here. I know some people thought I was crazy because I wanted my mother in law to come stay with us for the first week, but I am so thankful that she did. Brandon had 2 photo shoots this weekend; so while I was recovering, Brandon's mom was a huge help! Thanks so much Mom!!!!

Brandon keeps saying that Dominic better get used to the camera flash going off because everyone (including him) keeps taking pictures! I figure there are worse things in life than having pictures taken! I have pictures downloaded, now I just have to add them to the blog! I'm working on it, I promise! For now, I added a picture that my brother in law took and was so nice to send to me. The picture was taken shortly after birth, I think he was 2 hours old or so.

I hope everyone is doing well. I keep praying for those who have been affected by the fires. I don't think I know anyone personally, but friend's families have been evacuated. Please pray for those who have lost their homes, and for those who are in waiting to find out if they still have a home. I need to go get ready for the day while Dominic is still sleeping!
