I have to apologize for waiting 2 weeks to blog, but there isn't anything too terribly exciting to tell. The doctor appointments are going well, once a week now. We know that Dominic is head down, or at least he was at 36 weeks. I have finally hit the point where I feel like he is never coming out! He continues to sit high in my tummy, just under my ribs (it must be comfortable for him there). The doctor wants me to watch my weight gain and salt intake but my blood pressure and heart rate is good. She wants me moving more so I can have more contractions and get Dominic to drop since he is so darn high still.
I have decided that I need to write a book on things NOT to say to someone who is pregnant. This list will include: 1. Wow! You are huge!, 2. You look like you are ready to pop!, 3. I know someone who is due after you and they aren't nearly as big as you are. I am not quite sure why it is that people think it is a good idea to tell a pregnant woman that they look big....guys in particular just tell us that we are beautiful no matter what, because feeling like a big, fat, beached whale is not the most fun thing in the world and being told that we are big doesn't make it any better. One of my really good friends is great about telling me how wonderful I look and that I should remember that Dominic needs to stay in for just a little bit longer to finish developing, which I thought was wonderful. It made me feel better about Dominic still being high. So thank you very much Jen for always being so wonderful.
On another note, the nursery is almost finished, just waiting on the rocking chair and I need Brandon to put up the wall art. I need to take out the plastic bins of clothes for when Dominic gets older, and clear out a bag of trash but the crib, dresser, and changing table are all set up. I know it sounds like a lot to be done, but it really is almost done. I am really happy about that. It is nice to have a place to put clothes and blankets away.
Brandon and I went to my friend Jen and Kevin's wedding this weekend and it was just beautiful. I love when I go to weddings and they fit the couple perfectly! I hope Jen and Kevin had a great time and it truly was a beautiful wedding for them! Hmm, Brandon thinks he found my cord to connect the camera to the computer (yeah!) so I am hoping I can get some pictures up very soon. My next doctors appointment is later this week, and if there is anything new I promise to post it. I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather, I actually put on some sweat pants the other day and had to go buy a sweater, since nothing of mine fits anymore! That's OK, hopefully Dominic will be here soon and then I won't care about my clothes not fitting because we will have this new adventure to embark.
Take Care and enjoy everyday. Try to look for something good and be thankful for it.
All my love~
