Good morning everyone! I hope all is well with each of you. This past weekend Brandon and I traveled to the not so far off place of beautiful San Diego for a cousin's wedding. It was a busy weekend but there may be pictures from it...we will have to see. I have forgotten how much I love to travel despite being 7 months plus pregnant. San Diego is a great city with a plethora of opportunities and activities. There must be something about beach areas, people who live there move slower and seem to enjoy life more than those of us who live inland and live in the hustle and bustle of the world.
Everyone has been asking if the nursery is done yet, and if you know me really well then you know that it is not done. As much as I want it to be finished I have finally decided that I cannot do everything and have to rely on others to help me, which is a difficult feat for me. I would much rather do things myself, but I am learning quickly that my body now has limits, such as having to squat instead of bending over! All things will come in time.
I feel like I have been so busy running here and there and trying to get things done, the lists never seem to end. I'm sure some of you moms out there would say "welcome to motherhood!" All truth be told, I feel like all the running around I have been doing has been for other people or things, which stresses me out a bit, but I am learning to make time for myself and attempting to do things for myself. Such as taking time to read at night before I am too exhausted and fall asleep and making sure I put my feet up at the end of the day. I don't always have the time to it during the day, but at least they get up at some point!
My doctor's visits are going well, I am already beginning to go every two weeks now! That was a big shock to Bran and I! For some reason we both thought there was more time! This coming Saturday I will officially be 30 weeks, or 7 1/2 months pregnant. Dominic will be here before we know it! I have decided that my favorite thing about pregnancy is feeling Dominic move, even though he enjoys pushing up against my ribs and my liver.
Just last week, for the very first time, I had someone I didn't know actually make a comment on the fact that I am pregnant. That was pretty cool. It made me realize I must actually look pregnant now and not just fat. My office manager was so cute, she told me this week "it's nice to see that you finally look pregnant!" That made me laugh!
Brandon is working hard, while things have slowed down a bit in the desert. Families are taking vacations before the start of school and such which isn't so bad. Insurance companies are being difficult, but with the way the economy is at this point in time who can blame them. I have decided that being your own advocate for your child's need is probably the toughest job ever, so all of you new moms or moms that haven't had to fight for services be thankful, but don't leave it some unknown person at an insurance company if you need something, fight for it! That was my little rant for the day, sorry about that!
Anyways, I need to get going, reports to write and children to help! Have a wonderful day and I hope each of you is doing well and enjoy the end of summer. I am enjoying our beautiful sunsets and lighter traffic on my way home, but I know all too well we will transition to cooler days, with pleasant smells...and maybe a trip to the apple orchards before Dominic arrives.
All my love,
Dawnnie
